During the G20 summit in June this year, the residents of Toronto witnessed the largest mass arrest in Canadian history. Over a thousand people were arrested, more than two hundred and fifty were charged, and six remain in jail. Judy Rebick, founder of independent media site rabble.ca, author, activist, and political professor at Ryerson University talks about some legal issues surrounding the G20.

Climate Prosperity?

Dr. Danny Harvey – Climate Prosperity

The Royal Canadian Geographical Society and the National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy (NRTEE)  have recently launched “Climate Prosperity,” a collaborative project aimed raise awareness about the effects climate change on Canadian communities.

The national education initiative includes a “Degrees of Change” interactive diagram, feature articles in the current Canadian Geographic and Geographica magazines as well as resource package to be distributed to 12,000 middle and secondary schools across Canada.

Unfortunatley, the first comprehensive look at the expected impacts of climate change on Canada offers substantial and surprising errors. Climate scientist, Danny Harvey from the University of Toronto  discusses how the project misleads the public about the serious threat of climate change.
